WE DID IT!

I'm so proud of MY candidate! I'm so proud that the people were able to come together and put our country in motion! Finally, after years of doubt as an American... I am truly proud of our democratic process and our country as a whole.

Sharing my spark

This weeks spark is to make something using numbers! I made this card for my little cousin Diego's 4th birthday.

I've also been working on little projects for ellie's 2nd birthday coming up in January. I finished her birthday mum the other night. I crocheted the flower and used some ribbon I had lying around.

I have a few more ideas I want to work on as far as party decor goes. Hopefully next week I can order the paper for her invitations and get started on those. I'm planning on using the American Crafts "everyday" paper.

Don't forget the to vote on the 4th!!

a muse addicts bright white challenge

It feels goooood to be doing an a muse addicts challenge again! It feels like forever since I last logged in. This weeks challenge was to make a one layer card on white.

I have a TON of thank you cards! I don't know why but I'm always drawn to make a thank you card when I don't have an occasion for one. HAVE A GOOD DAY TFL!

Oh emm gee! So, one time I was going to school and I got hit by a school bus. Not just any school bus, but a school bus filled with elementary children going on a field trip. Yeah, I know sounds awful. Thankfully! I was the only one injured! Yippeee! RIP little orphan camry.

MOVING ON... Here is a random card i made the other day for no reason. I don't have any plans to give it to anyone. In fact, I rarely send thank you cards unless its the in-laws or the gma and gpa.

I'M BAACCCKK

Seriously, I'm back y'all! I've been sooo busy these past few months it makes me so sad I neglected my little ol' blog! I started my senior year at St. Edwards this August and boy oh boy is it a great year to be a political science major! I'm taking some pretty rough classes this year but I'm hoping it won't stop me too much from posting on here. I have been making some cards throughout my "break" and I've also been working on some other fun projects. I started embroidering, sewing, crocheting, an even managed to pick up knitting. Oh yeah and I have a daughter who's almost 2 I forgot that little aspect. Anyways... enough about me... I know blogs are all about pictures so I will leave you with some! BESIDES I got a new camera for my birthday! It's a canon rebel xsi and i lova lova it!

My mother and I took Ellie to the pumpkin patch this weekend in marble falls. I took her last year and had so much fun I thought it was a great opportunity to start a fall tradition. We painted a pumpkin, took lots of pictures, ate homemade strawberry popsicles and fed some goats. Ellie loooveees "dogs' and "wow-wows" it's adorable to see her get excited.

Anyway, its getting late and I gotta get up early for school! I'll be back tomorrow with some paper creations... goodnight.

Amuse Addicts weekly challenge

Back to the challenges! This weeks challenge is to celebrate... well since I have a wonderful family who supports me in all my goals... I made this special card for my sister to thank her for helping me so much with my daughter. She baptized Ellie and showers her with the love and care a mother dreams of! She is really wonderful and I celebrate her and how lucky I am to have her as a sister. I also celebrate my other siblings they are equally as wonderful as she is!!

HOLY MOLY BATMAN! looong post

Okay, I've officially changed my blog name to hern craft a lot. Reason being, I spent my whole summer picking up all kinds of crafts. I did some crocheting, some tutu making, even did some construction work on my daughters playhouse! Most recently I've began sewing. I made some cute curtains for the playhouse and I even did a variation of Missy's bunny pillow using her easy tutorial on her blog! Well, as of today my newest adventure brings me to the magical world of ebay! I figured I would combine my love of estate sales and thrifting to ebay with a vintage clothing store!

Oh yeah... and I'm back to stamping! Hahaha the new amuseapalooze release and american crafts paper has brought back to itch!

Well, I love everyone who reads this I promise I am back and will try my hardest not neglect my lil ol' blog again! For the heck of it... I'll post some summer fun pics!

What a week!

Oh my geezes I feel like my to-do list is never ending! This weekend we went up to Davins' hometown to visit his family. We had a fairly relaxing time and ended up leaving Ellie with his dad for the week. Waahhh I miss her but I think we needed some alone time. This is the FIRST TIME EVER we have spent anytime ALONE together since she was born... crazy right? Anyways, I'm enjoying my me time by learning to crochet, making cards, doing some credit card damage at american apparel and anthropologie, making tutus and cleaning! Oh yeah and online shopping like alwaayss. I found these cute stamps that I am planning on ordering come Friday whee!!

Well, I left my laptop charger at the in-laws so I don't have any new cards to show you or any other pictures of some little projects I'm working on but I do have the card I made for my mom to give to one of her co-workers.

I'm planning on recreating this card to send to Davins' parents since they are so good at making us comfortable and really enjoying our time there. Love them! Couldn't ask for better in-laws.

Thanks for stopping in!

Sharing my spark

I had such a faabbbulous day today. I got to see Lil Kris & Pcill and make fresh cherry pie (althought I had to leave ahead of time and didn't get to taste it). I needed entourage time since our last visit ended abruptly. We visited Kristys' garden and had a taste of some vegetables shes been growing. Mmmhm so good! I love organically grown yummyness.

Okay back to card stuff. I decided to participate in Heathers' share your spark friday challenge which was to use 7 things on a card. These things can be anything from stamps to copic to stickers and what not. I figured I would use MB's twin cupcakes again since its the stamp of the week and I <3 this stamp. Also, while on the topic of MB, I purchased some of her spool dolls on her etsy shop, you should check it out they are adorable!
I made this card for my niece who turned 3 this week! I made her invitations as well which are minnie mouse themed but I decided to stray away from minnie and use my new Pink Paislee clear stamps! Everything is a muse except for the dinosaur. My original idea behind this card was that I wanted the dinosaur to hold the cupcake and I was going to use some new American Craft rub-ons I just go in the mail. However, the "eat cake" rub-on from the celebration set was more boy-ish colors.

My 7 items:
  • Pink Paislee dinosaur stamp
  • MB Twin Cupcakes
  • Happy sentiment from the Birthday Builder clear stamp set
  • Birthday sentiment from the Happy Birthday to You stamp
  • Twinkle stickers
  • Wisteria colorbox chalk ink
  • A muse purple polka dot, chiffon, popsicle pink, and french roast notecards

P.S. I realize the sentiment is a little crooked. I would've fixed it but I've spent alllll day trying to mask the dinosaur juustt right without messing it up. Besides, a 3 year old is on the receiving end and as much as I hate to admit it, it will probably end up in the trash.

Stamp of the week challenge #16

My all time favorite a muse stamps has to be Missy Ballance's twin cupcakes. When I first discovered A muse right before Valentines Day, I waited at Memory Depot until they unpacked and separated every last portion of their shipment. I knew these stamps would go fast and that I would have little time to get valentines stamps. I just about died when I saw this stamp! I think it is the cutest stamp ever and I LOVE cupcakes!

Here's my twin cupcakes card I made for the stamp of the week challenge on the addicts board. When I saw the twin cupcakes were the stamp of the week i was so excited I started stamping right away. I'll probably have a few more to post. TFL!

I did my first addicts challenge last night. Wheeeeee! The paper on the sentiment is a random scrap of Madeira note card I just flipped it over and used the blank side. I just used my EK success corner rounder for the end and waaaalaaah!

For Sale—One (1) Wife, slightly used, 1964 Model

Date: 2008-04-14, 2:09AM PDT

Needs muffler, as it is currently VERY LOUD. Intake valve is stuck in the open position.

Rear end needs major overhaul. A crack there has grown monstrously large.

Needs re-wiring—Many wires are currently crossed.

Lots of little dings in the body, which have been covered up with too much paint in a
failed effort at camouflaging them.

Needs re-upholstering—Carpet has turned a dingy gray.

Needs front-end work--Tits are too close to the ground, and knees are too far apart.

May not pass emissions test, as it currently produces foul clouds of malodorous gases on a regular basis,

Heater works great. Hot air is never in short supply..

Asking $500 or trade for 1984 model.

Wheee first card post

Holy moly I never thought this day would come! I finally found my battery charger for my camera and am not suprised it has been hiding in my daughters closet! Anyways, so I just uploaded 'em and will be sharing them over the next few days. Enjoy!

These are some thank you cards I made a while back for my sister and my uncle Ralph. For easter we went to El Paso and although Ellie and I flew my parents were brave enough to drive. They took my daughters pink push buggy with them but forgot it at my grandmas house. So, my uncle attached it to the roof of his Xterra and drove it to San Antonio where my sister picked it up and brought it home!

And this is the mothers day card I made for my momma! It was very last minute... like day of! I was upstairs for an hour trying to make it while my mom made our special dinner.

I will be back sometime tomorrow to share more. Thanks for looking.

Blahness

I've been really busy since Easter! The semester is coming to an end and I have been up to my ears writing public policy papers & reading Holocaust literature. Not to mention, I had to prepare for a big speech on green building (I hate public speaking!). Anyways, I'm sitting at school studying up on some international relations. I have a final exam at 11:15 so I've gotta do some last minute cramming. Well, basically I just wanted to announce I will begin updating this thing more often as my card-making time frees up. Also, once I get my camera going again posts will be much more frequent! Anyways, thanks for stopping in (for those of you who actually read it, which is probably 0).

First blogizzle

Hello. There probably won't be anyone reading this anytime soon but I'll go ahead and introduce myself anyways. My name is Amanda, I'm 20 years old and a student at St. Edwards University here in the beautiful city of Austin, Texas. I have a 14 month old daughter, Ellie Sophia and she is my most prized possesion (second being my ever growing a muse stamp collection haha)The main purpose of this blog will be to share some of my stamping creations. Hopefully people will enjoy watching my skill level grow! I've only been stamping since January so I'm an amature. I use mainly a muse stamps although I do have a small collection of retired stampin- up sets. I usually get inspiration on the A Muse blog and through blog surfing I'll try my best to give credit but a lot of times I surf the internet on my blackberry during class and get ideas and forget where they came from. Anyways, thanks for stopping in!
